As I sat with my morning cup of coffee, reading my bible and listening to rain fall slowly outside my warm home. I turned to Ecclesiastes and began reading in the fifth chapter. As I read verses 18-19 it struck a place deep in my soul.
18 Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.
19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and we are all getting ready to sit down to the bounty of turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. We are truly blessed and we should give thanks for all these gifts from God. Yet the real blessing is not the food set before us or the roof over our head but our true blessings are those gathered around our table, our children, grandchildren, parents, loved ones. The love and bond we all share as family. The Love of our Heavenly Father. These are the true gifts from God. We are truly blessed. ~Jeanette
