From My Front Porch

From my front porch a new days beginning

 To the joyous sound of the early birds singing

Across the peaceful valley their sweet harmony is heard

As within my heart the Holy Spirit is stirred

 

From my front porch I hear children’s laughter ring out

Somewhere in the far distance they greet the new day with a shout

My rocking chairs softly rocking on my front porch here

As from across the green meadow I watch the graceful deer

 

From my front porch at the end of my day

I’ve been blessed from above I can surely say

For my Lord has given me a wonderful family to love

And a quiet place to hear His tender voice from above

 

From my front porch I find sweet peace

As from this world’s trials all worries do cease

So I’ll just keep rocking and reading from my dear Lord’s Word

As from my front porch His wondrous glory is heard
