Girl and Dogs

Ever Wonder Why God Made Dogs?

I have three wonderful friends
Who live at my house you see
Each one is unique in their own special way
And each is a loyal friend to me

First there is Missy, so laid back in all her ways,
Thinks it is her job to mother each of us no matter what we say
She likes to rest by the hearth at the end of each long day
Content to be surrounded by her whole family

Then there is Max so full of life and energy
Who never met a stranger and loves me unconditionally
My constant loving companion, a loyal friend who can’t be beat
Who lays close by my side wherever I rest my weary feet

Last but not least is Socks so small and serene
Has been a loyal friend, first to Mom and now to me
His life has been long upon this earth, seventeen years you see
He watched out for Mom until she left this world
Now with Missy and Max he watches out for me

No matter where I go they are right by my side
To comfort and protect me each day of their life
I sometimes think God made dogs
To show us what true love and loyalty means

They don’t judge you by your past
Or the clothes upon your back
They don’t care how big your house is
Or the size of your bank account.

They just love and protect their family
Forgiving all our transgressions when we’ve had a bad day
Yes, I believe God made dogs
To show us just a little bit of what unconditional love should be
