Pappaw’s Barn
Pappaw’s barn now stands so still
Filled with fond memories oh so real
I can see him now as yesterday
Filling that old barn with bales of hay
Memories of a man so dear
His gentle voice I still can hear
Telling me of days gone by
Of how he worked the land to survive
Cows mooing softly on the hill
While he calls them to their evening meal
As he walks with me slowly down the lane
We can see Mammaw peeking through the window pane
These two taught me of a simpler life
One filled with the Lord not earthly strife
How I miss those precious days gone by
Memories made in Pappaw’s barn always bring a gentle sigh

At Thanksgiving I was able to visit that farm and old neighborhood in my life this year. It made me so happy and grateful for family and friends, neighbors and associates, followers and leaders, who shared and sheltered a way, moment by moment all year long…I was delighted to proceed, knowing tho ways are many, doors are opening, information, opportunity and choices are abundant, sometimes overwhelmingly so…somehow, one step at a time…people and things work…and there is grace in this place – by whatever one or many means contribute. Knowing simplicity at the right time imparts good starts.
Creating simplicity at the right time – may be more complicated. I am blessed with opinions of many. Lol. Hugs at the holidays and throughout the time ahead.
