Tuesday’s Devotional

Tuesday Devotional
2 Corinthians 4: 14-18 kjv
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Life as we know it is only temporary, a fleeting moment in eternity. Where we will spend our eternity should always be first and foremost in our mind and heart. As humans it’s so easy to get caught up in the rat race we call life; striving to have material things that we feel will bring us happiness and contentment. Yet true peace and contentment only comes from knowing and walking with Christ every day. Our outward man is perishing daily and there is nothing we can do to change that but if we are following Christ our inward man grows stronger every day.

Heavenly Father, help us to keep our heart set upon You and not on the things of this world that are only temporary. Help us to grow stronger in You as our outward man grows weaker with time. Teach us to put our faith and hope in You, not the things of this world. As Your children we know we are only passing through this world headed to an eternal home with You. In Jesus Name! Amen
