Thursday’s Devotional
Matthew 26:75 kjv
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
I Samuel 16:7 kjv
But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Inspiration
Can you just imagine how Peter must have felt when the rooster crowed for that third time and he remember the Lord had told him he would deny him three times before the night was gone? His heart had to have been filled with great sorrow and anger at himself. I’m sure he felt like the Lord would never want anything to do with him again. Yet, after Jesus rose from the dead and later sat by the sea with His disciples He said to Peter “Feed my sheep!” He knew what Peter had done, knew what he would say even before Peter himself knew. Yet Jesus also saw that Peter loved him and was willing to follow Him no matter how much he had failed in his past.
Satan whispers to us far to often you have done too much, gone too far and made too many mistakes for God to ever use you. This is a lie from Satan! The truth is many times our mistakes and how God turned them for good is the greatest testimony we can have. None of us are perfect but God takes the imperfect and makes us perfect before him through the shed blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Aren’t you glad God doesn’t look on the outward man or at the mistakes we have made but looks to our willing heart seeing only our future and what we can accomplish for Him.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me beyond all my faults and seeing what I can be for you. Forgive me of my past mistakes. Help me to see my future through your eyes as I give all my baggage over to you. Teach me daily how I can become more like you leading others to you as I live my daily life. Instill in me a soft and willing heart that loves others as you do so they can see you living in me. In Jesus Precious Name. Amen
Great message. Where do you get beautiful images from? Remain safe.
