Enter Into The Gates Of His Rest

Do you ever become troubled by the trials and heartaches of life? It is 1:30 in the morning and my heart is heavy for those I love. For my brother-in-law who is battling cancer. For my daughter and grandchildren who are hurting because someone they love has given up on life again. For my son-in-law who is in a dark place in his mind and spirit. For family and friends who are sick and hurting. For a nation that has drifted so far away from God and His truth. I look around at the heartaches and know that the only hope we have is in Christ. He is the answer for all our trials and heartaches if we will just call upon Him and trust Him to direct our path.

I know I am not the only one out there whose heart is heavy for those they love and for the trials they are facing. My prayers are lifted up for each of you as I know you also will lift me and my loved ones up in prayer. Jesus said we are to cast all our cares upon Him for He cares for us. Our peace is only found in Him and I know, I know without a doubt that He holds each of us in His hands.

So let us praise our Savior Jesus Christ for His love, forgiveness and comfort. Let us thank Him for always being there. No matter what we face in life we know without a doubt that we will never face it alone. In His promises we can always find security and comfort. Let us enter into the gates of His rest.

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Matthew 11:28-29 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Amen and Amen! God Bless each of you, my friends. ~Jeanette

Autumn

There’s a crispness in the air that greets the morning sun, a feeling of anticipation, a new day has begun. Harvest days are ending, winter is drawing near, yet in between is surely the most special time of year. They call it Indian Summer, and it seems to fit the bill, for it’s as if the Lord took a feathered brush and painted all the hills.

Now as I sit contented, atop of one of these, a book in hand to pass the time, the sound of a gentle breeze, I can almost imagine an Indian child upon this mountaintop, looking down at the land of her forefathers, lost within her thoughts for in every persons lifetime some heartache may occur, but on these hills in quiet solitude, God helps us to endure. So I say that the eyes are a window, beauty is found within the soul, and upon the hills of Autumn, that are strewn with red and gold.

Of all the seasons Autumn has to be my favorite. As I watch the foliage change it is as though our Heavenly Father took a paint brush and painted all the hills and valleys in wondrous colors galore. As I breath in the crisp morning air and look into the clear deep blue sky I stand in awe of the glorious colors of Autumn against it’s Heavenly hue.

What a wonderful time to be in the wonder of color the Father has provided for our enjoyment. A special time to walk the hills and valleys while talking with our Heavenly Father, drawing ever closer to Him as we commune with Him and meditate upon His Word.

Psalm 104:24 O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

Psalm 104:30-34 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works. He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord.

Yes, I will be glad in the Lord for He is my joy and peace!!

Have a blessed season my friends. ~Jeanette

This Life Is Full of Blessing

This life is full of blessing
You Lord have given more
I have a lovely dwelling
And family I adore

This life is full of blessing
Delicious foods to eat
Trees and flowers growing
Their beauty is so sweet

This life is full of blessing
More than I really need
Love and peace abounding
It’s time to plant Your seed

This life is full of blessing
Enough for me to share
With those who have nothing
To let them know I care

This life is full of blessing
Freedom in Your grace
My soul is ever soaring
As I wait to see Your face

This life is full of blessing
To You I give my praise
For the gift of life everlasting
I’ll savor through endless days

Eternal life is the greatest blessing
To dwell with You on high
With all the saints worshipping
As Your feast draws nigh.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, for all the wonderful and endless blessings of life You so freely bestow upon us. Most of all Thank You Father for the promise and hope of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. In Jesus Name. Amen

May God Bless each of you. ~Jeanette

sweet-memories

Sweet Memories

Sweet memories clutter my mind,
Though distantly I can see,
A glimmer in the mirror of
My mother, but it’s only me.

How she gathered eggs,
in her White apron so tenderly
Or her homemade biscuits and gravy
For my brother, sister, and me.

A grandmother’s smile
For all the world to see
I’m in her loving arms as
She gently cradles me.

A special aunt whose gift
Of praise, for only me to see
Who sang that sweet lullaby
In the Sweet Bye And Bye for me.

I gather sweet memories of
Days I’ll always see
in my mother’s so many faces
Who are all a part of me.

She touches a child’s life
For a brief moment you see
For we’re to pass it on
A part of you and me.

So many special faces
And collective memories
We humble ourselves before you
Lord, and give special thanks
For our Mother and Thee.

Such sweet memories of days gone bye. ~Jeanette

walk-humbly

Walking Humbly With God & Others

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Our world is moving so fast. So many are pushing and shoving others to get what they want or think they need in life. Others have become indifferent to other people, never really seeing their needs. It seems at times we can’t really trust anyone. Too often we feel we have to be as the world, pushing and shoving to survive. Yet to walk humbly as a child of God we cannot allow this world to hinder our walk as a Christian.

What do I mean “to walk”? The definition of walk means to move at a pace slower than a run or in this instance “One’s conduct in life.”

Our conduct in life is either as a Christian or a non-Christian.

Romans 8:4-5, and 1 says “That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, we walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”

Verse 1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.”

So how do we keep from having the attitude and state of mind the world has? What are the characteristics we need to walk humbly with God and those around us?

1.  We must seek the Spirit of God and invite Him into our heart and lives. We cannot within ourselves walk humbly. Only through the power of Christ and the Holy Spirit living within us can we walk humbly toward God and others.

Ephesians 3:14-20 says, For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; (within our hearts and spirits) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

Only through Christ and the Holy Spirit living within us are we able to walk humbly. We must invite the Lord and the Holy Spirit to come dwell in us so we can walk filled with the goodness of God thereby being able to walk through this life with a humble and loving attitude.

2. We must have integrity which means to be honest and truthful. Our word needs to mean something first to ourselves and then to others. We must have a mindset that when we say something, promise something, we are going to do all we can to honor our word. Only then do others see us as having integrity. Without it we cannot influence others to Christ.

1 Kings 9:4-5 – And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules, then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, “You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.”

I Thessalonians 4:11-12 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

As a Christian we should always do our best to do what is right, to pay our debts, and to keep our word. When we do these things we show integrity and others view us as being honest, which is a good testimony for Christ.

3. We must walk in peace with ourselves and secondly we must walk peacefully with others.

Peace: a feeling of completeness and well-being.

Where does real peace come from? Within ourselves we have no peace but through Christ we can live and walk in peace within ourselves and with others.

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:4-8 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing (don’t worry for anything); but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Keep your mind clear of negative thoughts, dwell on the good found in Christ. Look for the good in others and the situations we face in life. Everybody and everything isn’t all bad. If we look at others with a loving and forgiving heart we can find good in whatever situation we are in. Trust God always. Our faith in Him will carry us through the darkest of situations.

We should live peacefully with others.

Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

Romans 12:17-19 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto (turn away from) wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

I Timothy 2:1-3

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.

4. We must love God and others. Not with a superficial love but with a deep abiding love that only comes from knowing Christ and having Him dwell within our hearts.

Real Godly Love is: Sacrificial love, a kind naturally expressed by God. (Having compassion, gentleness, kindness, giving of yourself for the benefit of another). Christ being our example.

Matthew 22: 37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

We must love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind; and we must cultivate a personal relationship with Him which increases our bond and love for Him.

I John 4: 18-21, 7 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

This is not just our physical brother but our brother in Christ. Also, Christ wants us to love all and have compassion for all. How else can we win anyone to Christ without showing love and compassion?

Verse 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

These are some of the Characteristics of a Christian who is walking humbly with God and others. I encourage you to search the Word of God for yourselves for the meaning of integrity, peace, and love. Only through our study and mediation of the Word of God can we learn to walk humbly with God and others.

God is Love and His love living within us brings a peace beyond explanation. I so look forward to one day walking into heaven and resting in that complete wonderful peace and love that I know in my heart waits for me there. Until then may the Love of God live within us all, causing us to walk humbly with God and others, giving us a peace that can only be found in walking humbly with God and others.

May the Lord bless each of you today and always.~Jeanette

Serenity

Serenity: Finding peace in whatever situation you are in. Sometimes it seems serenity is so hard to find in today’s world. I often sing a song at our church called, “The Only Real Peace That I Have Dear Lord Is In You.” Really this is so true. Life just has a way of bringing heartaches and troubles no matter what we are doing or not doing. We can only control the way we react to the heartaches and troubles we are faced with. In ourselves we cannot walk in this life at peace unless we have Jesus and the Holy Spirit living within us, guiding us. Each day I have to ask the Lord to give me a fresh anointing of His Holy Spirit to be my guide through whatever the day may bring. I am so eternally grateful for the peace I can always find in My Savior’s Holy Presence. I encourage you to start each day in prayer to our Father above inviting His Holy guidance to be with you throughout the day.

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; The courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time. Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world As it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right If I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next.

In Jesus Name. Amen.

Jesus loves you and so do I. Have a blessed day, my friends. ~Jeanette

This looks so peaceful. It reminds me of a dream I had many years ago which I can still recall vividly today. I was floating out over a huge field filled with long green grass which was waving softly in the gently breeze. As I floated over the field I felt such a wonderful gentle peace. I have felt that some gentle peace many times since when I am in prayer or worshiping my Lord. I am so thankful for the love and peace from my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. A love and peace that surpasses anything this world could ever offer.

Isaiah 32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.

Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Have A Blessed Day.~Jeanette

Where Peaceful Waters Flow

Where Peaceful Waters Flow The clouds break forth the streams of light To dance upon the earth, And cradled in the sands of time, Comes a newborn baby’s birth.
