I Am With You Always
Jesus promised us in His word that he would always be with us. We never have to feel we are alone. Even though we do not always feel the Lord by our faith we know He is always with us watching over us. On those days when we feel we are alone remember to stay in communication with the Lord. He loves to hear from us and the more we talk with Him the closer we are with Him. Always be assured His love is always there no matter what we have done or what is happening in our lives. He is just a word or thought away and those times when we feel alone He is still right there walking beside us, guiding us and protecting us.
Deuteronomy 31:8 – And the LORD, he [it is] that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
Isaiah 41:10-13 – Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Thank you Lord for your presence in my life. Even though I do not always feel you I know you are with me for I am not living by my feelings but by faith in you, Lord. You promised me in your word that you would never leave me or forsake me. I can go through my days knowing no matter where I am or what I am doing you are right there with me guiding me and protecting.
I know you speak to my heart as I speak to you with mine. Words do not have to be verbally spoken as I can speak with you in my mind and with my heart and you hear each word. Thank You Father! I give you honor and praise. In Jesus precious name. Amen.
Our Purpose Never Ends
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before ordained that we should walk in them.
So many times I have taught about our purpose in life and how God has put each of us here for a purpose, but recently it has been revealed to me that our purpose is not just one simple thing but many things in our walk on earth. Often times the Lord sends us to do something in our life. If we are hearing His voice and heeding His voice as we should we then go forth and complete what He sent us to do. But is that one time the end of it? I don’t believe so and I will show you why. The Lord came to this earth to glorify the Father in heaven and gave His life so we can be in a personal relationship with the Father again. This was His main purpose but He fulfilled many other purposes while here on earth. He called the disciples and taught them so they could carry the gospel when He had returned back to the Father. He performed many miracles to show the compassion, love, and power from the Father above, each one being a purpose within its self. Everything Jesus did was to fulfill a purpose for the Father who sent Him.
I began to think on this recently because I had lost the hearing in my right ear and developed a serious balance issue from a disease called Menieres’ Disease. I faced many days of depression because I could no longer physically sing with the worship team or teach classes in my church. Daily tasks I was use to doing became a struggle to complete. I began to wonder what my purpose on earth now was. I felt as if my purpose in life had been taken from me. The person I identified as was no longer there.
I asked the Lord many times, “What do I do now?” Recently I started to ask Him to show me what he wanted me to do. He began to bring back to my memory dreams I had had many years ago. In one dream he carried me into a room that had clear glass walls all around it, in the middle of the room there was a pure white desk and the Lord said sit and write. Then in another dream I was searching for what I thought was my earthly father among tall trees but later came to realize it was my heavenly Father for whom I was searching. In the dream I was carried down a road that lead to a house in which I was lead down a long hallway into a room that had large glass windows that looked out over the most beautiful clear water with pure white sparkles of light shimmering across it. In that room sat a desk and the Lord said sit and write. I have written some poems and in my blog off and on for awhile now but I believe there are things the Lord wants me to say to others through my writing, things that will give them hope and maybe strengthen their faith in times of trouble. I don’t claim to be anything special and if my words touch anyone they are not of me but of my Father in heaven of which I am only an instrument for His glory.
I know I cannot be the only person in life who feels they are no longer the person they use to be for whatever reason. We all have a purpose for being on this earth and we only have an allotted time to fulfill that purpose. Our life upon this earth can be a short time or it can be many years. We may only have a short time to fulfill our purpose or we may have many opportunities to fulfill our purpose for the Father in many different ways. One thing is for sure God did not bring us here to sit by doing nothing for His kingdom, nor did He bring us to this earth to care only about ourselves and what we can get while here on this earth. Our greatest accomplishments are when we do as the Father has called us to do. We are to carry His kingdom forth by loving others and showing them the grace of our Father in heaven through our lives and actions. Our every thought, word, and action should be about showing the goodness of God through us in whatever ability He gives us. Thereby fulfilling our purposes one after the other until our life is finally given over to be received again into the presence of God.
Not how we hear or see or what we have in life will define who we are. Only by our example as a child of the Father, an example that brings others to Him can define who we are as person and as child of our heavenly Father. Our purpose here is for His glory and His glory only. That purpose is not complete until we draw our last breathe no matter what physical state we are in. Even though one chapter of our life has been written doesn’t mean God doesn’t have other chapters to be written in other ways. I encourage you don’t give up if your life has been changed by a circumstance beyond your control. Turn the page and let the Lord guide you into the next chapter of your life.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
May the Lord bless you and keep you in His loving care and may you never lose sight of His purpose for your life.
Jesus answered them, “Do ye now believe?” “Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
Jesus said, “Do you now believe?” As He sat talking with His disciples He wanted to know if they really understood and believed that He had come from the Father. He also wants us to fully believe He is the Son of God and that He is with us always.
So often our flesh is weak. We forget the Father is with us just as He was with Jesus during His time here on earth. Often our hearts and minds are troubled with the things we see happening around us. Our family and friends may forsake us but just as the Father was with Jesus He is also with us no matter where we are at, or whatever circumstance we are in.
We see so much sickness, anger, and hatred in the world especially in these trying times we are now facing. Jesus said these things will happen but He also said be of good cheer for I have overcome the world with its evil and sickness.
The Father was always with Jesus, walking with Him and guiding Him while He walked this earth. He promised He would do the same for us if we are following Him. What a wonderful promise we have to rest in as we face the hardships of this life. We are never alone and we are not of this world, but we are just passing through this world headed to an eternal home with our Lord and our Heavenly Father.
Jesus prayed, “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
Hold to His promises my friends and rest in His Holy Presence for He is with us always.
Let us Pray:
Our Heavenly Father we come to you today giving you our weak flesh and troubled minds. We lay them at your feet Father knowing in our heart and spirit that you are in full control. Satan rages in this world yet we know you have each of us in your gentle loving arms guiding us until we finally come wholly into Your presence. We ask you to forgive us for our sins and failures. Strengthen us with Your Holy Spirit. We ask You also Father to send Your Holy Spirit out across the land to heal the hearts of the people. Fill us Father with Your Holy Spirit as we open our hearts to You today.
In Jesus’ name we humbly ask all these things! Amen & Amen.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Our walk with God and others is so important. We as a child of God are to become a new person when we accept Christ into our lives. We are to no longer walk as the old person of sin did with our hearts blinded by our fleshly desires and weakness but we are to put away from us all lasciviousness and uncleanness, greediness, corrupt conversations, and deceitful lusts. We are to put away lying, always speaking the truth with others because we are part of one another and God said though shall not lie. If we are angry we are not to sin, or give in to the devil and his devices. We are not to steal from other but to labor with our hands that we may have to give to others in need. We are to have no corrupt conversations but our words are to be used to edify and lift others up so that it ministers grace to those who hear our words. We are not to be bitter and have wrath, I am going to get even mentality, we are not to speak evil of others but we are to put away malice and anger instead being kind to one another, being tenderhearted and humble, forgiving one another even as Christ forgives us. We are to live our lives with a clean new heart showing other how a true person who loves Christ lives a live of love and compassion for others.
This is my prayer today and everyday!
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. In Jesus Precious Name! Amen and Amen
Our God is an awesome God and I am so thankful we have Him to lean on in these trying times we are all facing. Darkness is over our land right now but the Lord is our strength and our comfort. Thank You our Lord and Savior for always being with us in the bad times and in the good times.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Be with us Lord, give us strength, heal this land and bring peace to our hearts through the power of the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross and the stripes that You took for our healing. We give you all the praise and honor and glory that is Yours and Yours only. In the name of our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
A Still Small Voice
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to suddenly loss your physical hearing: to go from one minute hearing to the next not hearing at all?
Almost a week ago I suddenly lost all my hearing in my right ear. I have suffered from an illness called Meniere’s Disease for at least 16 years now. In the course of the illness I have suffered fluctuating hearing loss, vertigo, dizziness, and balance issues, along with sensitivity to sounds and bright lights. Yet with all the issues I had faced I was not by any means prepared for the loss of my hearing.
We take so much for granted in this life, waking up in the morning, looking at our surroundings, seeing the people in our lives, hearing the sound of the morning birds, our loved ones voices, simple ever day sounds we take so easily for granted. Yet each one of these things and so much more is a blessing from the Lord, a source of joy and peace to our minds, hearts, and spirits.
When tragedy strikes us we can choose to be angry with the situation we have been dealt or we can choose to learn to listen to the soft still voice of our Savior, Jesus Christ just as Elijah did when He was faced with fear and trials. The day my hearing left me I believe the Lord carried me outside onto my back deck. I was in my office working from home and the intense feeling kept coming over me to go outside. So I finally got up from my chair and walked out onto my deck. Just as I walked through the door an eagle flew straight above me with that shrill call they make. I looked up into the blue sky and saw the beautiful bird as it sailed straight over my head. I remember saying to the Lord what a beautiful sight as I thanked the Lord for allowing me to live in a place where I could see an experience such beauty. I remember looking around me and telling the Lord that I needed His peace in my heart because I had been worrying over some things I did not have the power to change. Within three minutes of my coming back into my office I had lost my hearing. I believe the Lord carried me outside to see and hear that beautiful eagle to encourage me that He would have me covered as I went through the trial I was about to face.
Some part of me wants to ask, “Why Lord?” but so much more I want the Lord to just whisper His sweet peace to me in His quiet still voice. I know without a doubt I am never alone for He walks with me, he hears the voice of my heart and understands me in ways I cannot even understand myself. There is no one I can be closer to than the Lord because He is with me every second of everyday. He knows every thought and fear, even the things I am not conscience of myself. When sadness comes to overtake me He strengths me and dries my tears. When I face ear injections and the side effects of the oral Prednisone He is there giving me strength. When my hope wants to fail me He is there holding me up and saying to my heart, “Don’t give up, we will overcome this together!” I cannot even imagine what my daily existence would be like without the Lord in my life. Without a doubt it would be empty, void of any peace or abiding hope. Yet in Him I can find all of those precious things that I need to carry me through each day.
I do not know what any one of you might be facing in your lives at this time but I want to encourage you to lean on the Lord. He is a source of strength we cannot find anywhere else on this earth. I would be lying if I said it is always easy but one truth I can tell you I know beyond a shadow of a doubt is that the Lord loves each of us with a love our mortal minds cannot comprehend, and with Him we can face anything this life can throw at us. So let us open our heart to Him today and hear His still small voice as He whispers His sweet peace into our hearts.
1 Kings 19:11-13 (KJV)
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
Isaiah 59:1 (KJV)
Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Psalms 91:1-4 (KJV)
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Matthew 7:12 (KJV)
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
I was sitting thinking about this verse this morning and I asked myself how often are we really thinking about this when we are talking to others or treating someone a certain way. We all want to be loved, honored, and respected. We want our family, friends and co-workers to be loyal to us but do we treat them that way? Would we want to be treated and talked to the way we treat others or be spoken to the way we speak to others? Would we want our friends and family spoken about the way we speak of other people’s family? It’s so easy to justify ourselves when we talk down to someone or speak bad about someone, or treat someone with disrespect but truth be told we all have issues that need work. Often we wonder what is wrong with our relationships when truth be told our relationships are only as good as the amount of work we are willing to put into that relationship. If we talk down to and are disrespectful to those we want to treat us with love and respect chances are we will not receive the love, respect and devotion we want from them. As we walk into a new year let us start to think about our words and our actions towards others. Let us be willing to put forth the effort that is needed to keep our relationships healthy. Hurts go deep and do not heal overnight so be willing to be patient and consistent in having a Jesus like attitude toward others in word and actions. Jesus knew what He was talking about, love and respect comes from being willing to love and respect others not just today but everyday of our lives.
God Bless and Happy New Year! Jeanette
As I sat here tonight reading all the prayer requests it seems I can almost see the faces of the people and feel the spirit off of each one writing their prayer requests. My heart is full and my eyes overflow with tears as I read the requests and the responses from our Christian family. I would not know most of you if I met you on the street yet I feel I know your hearts and the love you have for your families and friends but most of all the love you have for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter what country we are in. Some are all the way around the world from me yet they are here in my heart. It doesn’t matter the color of our skin or the language we speak because we all speak with the same love and care for each other and for those lost and hurting in the world. I try to pray for each of you each day, I may not call you by name because there are so many prayer requests but I ask the Lord to answer every need spoken and unspoken. As much as I (we) care our Father cares far more and He see and knows all things. I know in my heart He is there working all things to your good.
I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to all of you who are praying for each other and reaching out to comfort each other. You will never know how much those prayers mean to so many people.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ( Hold to your faith our Father Yahweh-Jehovah loves you and is there in whatever your situation is and He only wants the very best for you.)
I Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous. (Thank you all for the compassion, love and encouragement you give to each other.)
Hebrews 4:16 – Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
James 5:16 – Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (Your prayers are helping to work miracles in the lives of others)
John 15:7 – If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (Thank you so much for lifting each other up in prayer! Your prayers and Word spoken will not return void. Is 55:11)
God Bless each of you my precious family in Christ!
