Friday’s Devotional

Friday’s Devotional
Philippians 2: 14-15 kjv
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Do all things without murmurings and disputing! WOW! This can be a hard one at times. We know the Lord wants us to act in a Christian manner and if you are like me I do a good job most of the time but then there comes that one moment on a day that hasn’t gone so well and I seem to lose it all. We are human and God knows we have our weak moments but He does not want us to be murmuring and disputing with one another. In our world today people seem to be constantly bickering with each other or even worse doing bodily harm to others. The Lord does not want us to be as the world is; but He does want us to use wisdom when we are faced with bad situations.

We know we are allowed righteous anger because Jesus got angry and threw the moneychangers out of the temple. (Matthew 21:12) Jesus had a legitimate reason for what He did. Jesus was faced with many situations where He could have gotten angry and blown up yet He held His peace and used wisdom to handle what He was being faced with. We, as Jesus was, are allowed to stand up for what is right but we are to do it with wisdom in a manner that would be pleasing to God.

Proverbs 4:5-10
Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Father, help us to learn wisdom and teach us understand so that we know how to answer anyone in any given situation. Help us to control our anger so that we are not acting as the world acts around us but let us do all things with a wisdom that only comes from You so that we may shines as lights for You in a world filled with anger and hate. In Jesus Name! Amen
